At SHBS, a campus brimming with vitality and creativity, courses serve not only as transmitters of knowledge but also as incubators for students' interests and potential. To broaden students' horizons and meet their diverse learning needs, this year, the SHBS teaching team has once again dedicated themselves to carefully planning 67 enriching elective courses. With a wide variety of courses available, whether it's in-depth academic exploration, artistic inspiration, or language exchange, the aim is to provide a tailored growth stage for every student.

In the realm of mathematics and science, the AP Math Preparation course leads students towards the pinnacle of international academia with rigorous logic and a forward-looking perspective. Physics Bowl and AP Chemistry Review engage students through a series of meticulously designed experiments, allowing them to experience the charm of science and ignite their curiosity about the unknown world. Amazing Labs, with its unique spirit of innovation and hands-on teaching methods, enables students to grow through exploration, transforming theoretical knowledge into practical skills.

Language and cultural learning is also a highlight of this elective course offering. The English Translation and Interpreting course enhances students' language abilities through simulated real-life translation scenarios, paving the way for future international communication. Shakespeare on Shakespeare is a literary journey through time, allowing students to follow the pen of Shakespeare into a dramatic world filled with romance and tragedy, feeling the power of the classics.

Additionally, the Chinese Department's courses are no less impressive, with the profound philosophy of the "Tao Te Ching," the articulate debates of "Chinese Speech and Debate," and the mysterious exploration of "Oracle Bone Script," all allowing students to experience the breadth and depth of Chinese culture through tradition and innovation.

In the vast world of SHBS, more language courses serve as bridges connecting different cultures, leading students on exciting journeys of discovery. Courses like Welcome to Korea, Hello France, and Japanese Language are not just starting points for language learning but also keys to the world's multiculturalism.

Art, as a nourishment for the human soul, also occupies a place in these elective courses. From the meticulous carving of rubber stamps to the exquisite craftsmanship of cloisonné, and the light and shadow capture of photography classes, each course allows students to swim in the ocean of art, creating their own beautiful world with their hands. These courses not only cultivate students' aesthetic taste and creativity but also make them more sensitive and delicate under the influence of art.

Physical education courses also provide a stage for students to release passion and challenge themselves. The softness and strength of classical dance, the passion and courage of free combat, the elegance and grandeur of equestrianism, and the teamwork and strategy of floorball... these courses not only strengthen students' physiques but also teach them the spirit of persistence and hard work in sports.

Finally, competitive courses like SRCC Robotics and Subject Catalyst provide a platform for students to showcase themselves and challenge their limits. Here, students have the opportunity to participate in scientific research projects, exploring and pursuing excellence with outstanding mentors and peers. These experiences will not only lay a solid foundation for students' academic and career development but also become the most precious wealth in their lives.

The elective courses at SHBS are not only a feast of knowledge and interests but also a journey of self-discovery and growth. We look forward to every SHBS student finding their own direction and goals in this campus full of opportunities and challenges, and bravely pursuing their dreams and future.
