At 1:30 pm on August 25th, the orientation camp's business simulation competition officially kicked off at SHBS. This business challenge was co-hosted by SHBS and Yisheng Education, aiming to help students understand business, bring everyone closer to the business world, and cultivate students' teamwork, communication, leadership, and creative abilities.
More than 40 students participated in this business simulation challenge, divided into two "countries" and twelve "companies". Each company in the country could obtain the country's advantageous resources through "mining machines". Students could obtain funds by selling resources, or they could develop suitable products after market research and invest in the market to make a profit. Through this activity, students learned what a business competition is and how it should operate.
There are three parts to this business simulation competition: a preparatory financial year and two formal financial years, with the preparatory financial year lasting fifteen minutes; the two formal financial years last eighty minutes, with a five-minute "break" between each financial year.
In the preparatory financial year, students were eager and ready to show their talents in the virtual business world, aiming to become the next "Zuckerberg" or the next "Buffett".
The preparatory financial year passed smoothly in a warm atmosphere. With the arrival of the formal financial year, the funds were reset. Some "companies" were eager and quickly bought a large number of machines, but they grasped the quantity just right and did not encounter "bankruptcy".
However, some "companies" formulated a meticulous and detailed business plan after careful consideration, actively carried out team cooperation, and ultimately won the championship with a total asset of more than ten million, far exceeding others.
The end of the business simulation competition brought us not only the end of a game but also a real and vivid experience of the business world. In this short time, we witnessed the joys and sorrows of the business world, from the initial ambition to the final success or failure. We saw that seeking quick success and instant benefit may lead to short-sighted and impulsive decisions, while careful consideration, teamwork, and a clear plan are the keys to success.
