SHBS Event|The SELCOUTH Concert

On April 15, 2024, SHBS held a grand SELCOUTH concert in the auditorium. During the artistic and captivating one-hour event, teachers and students together enjoyed 12 splendid and diverse musical performances, with delightful melodies dancing in the air, leaving a lasting impression.

The opening act featured five students, Regis, Gallon, Allen, Chris, and Jennifer, guided by their instructor Toby. They presented a drumming performance titled "Afro Spirit Groove Line". The five drummers created an exotic ambiance with their crisp and melodious beats.



Following that, all the students from Music Class B showcased their talent by performing the rock song "Poker Face," displaying the charm of Boomwhacker art.

 

Next, the enchanting melody of "Why We Sing" filled the air as Jenny, Martina, Joanna, Leo, Lucas, Chris, Mike, Allen, Michael, Evan, Maggie, Angela, Jessica, and Michelle joined forces to deliver a captivating choir performance under the guidance of teacher Bethany. Their harmonious singing was intoxicating, as if soaring in the blue sky.

Later on, two students, Hayden and Steven, presented a rap performance titled WorldPrinciples and Peppermint Water, expressing hidden emotions with their magnetic voices.


Joanna, Martina, Jasmine, Mike, Allen, Jenny, Leo, Niky, along with teachers Bethany and Will, collaborated to bring a song collection that ignited the atmosphere, leaving the audience mesmerized.

Following that, Sophie, Lesley, Wendy, Victoria, and Felicia performed Kpop dance "Hype Boy", infusing the venue with vibrant and magnetic movements, receiving continuous applause.

Jasmine, Lucky, Aria, Martina, and Joanna, together with teacher Will, performed "Ditto", a Kpop song that conveyed profound and somber emotions, carrying the audience's thoughts to distant places along with its melody.

"Selcouth" is an original composition by teacher Will. Jasmine, Martina, Lucky, Gallon, Emma, Evan, Steven, and Hayden's collaborative performance deeply moved the audience. The song was both soothing and tension-filled, with the rap section exuding artistic influence.


Subsequently, Gia, Jerry, Emma, Olga, Carrie, and Ring performed the piece "Time".This classic composition was awe-inspiring and filled with storytelling.

Concert concluded with the performance of the song "La La Land" from the movie of the same name. Gia, Jerry, Emma, Olga, Carrie, Ring, and Regis's rendition deeply touched the audience.



Music builds a bridge, breaking down the thick barriers between people. It is a language that allows individuals to communicate with each other. May the unlimited courage brought by music lead each person to their desired destination in this spring season.
