On the afternoon of April 8, 2024, the annual dubbing competition finals of SHBS kicked off in the auditorium.
Hosted by Evelyn and Alex, both dressed in formal attire, they took the center stage to introduce the participating students, and the competition officially began!
First, Sophia presented the work "Sonnet". As a classic composed of 154 sonnets written by Shakespeare, it passionately depicts profound philosophies on love, beauty, time, and life. The audience couldn't help but be captivated by the delicate portrayal of the poetry.
Next, Dylan and Michael jointly presented "Ronin Warriors." As a childhood memory for many, it is full of passion and fervor. On this stage, they added a new chapter to this story filled with hot-bloodedness.
Afterwards, Jenny brought us "Hazbin Hotel". Her vocal rendition and tone imitation of this unique work left the audience in awe.
Calan performed the dubbing for "Revolting Rhymes". In the story, each character possesses unique personalities and experiences. The kind wolf, Little Red Riding Hood wearing a wolf's skin, the clever and composed Snow White... These classic characters, who subvert our imagination, reveal new appearances through their voices on this stage. Ivan's "Arcane" remains unforgettable. As an animated masterpiece jointly created by Riot Games and Netflix, it has won the enthusiastic acclaim of audiences and players worldwide with its unique art style and profound thematic content.
Devin brought a unique interpretation of "The Will Brothers". With superb dubbing skills, he vividly portrayed the characters' emotions. In the mysterious and magical world of "Genshin Impact," the audience followed Eddey's voice to explore endless adventures and encounters. Departing from the bustling old Mondstadt, they embarked on a wonderful journey of adventure.
Evony's "Back to the Future: 1999" led the audience on a time-traveling journey, immersing them in a game world full of creativity and imagination, experiencing the excitement of time travel. Andy ignited the atmosphere with the comedy "Between Two Ferns", pushing the laughter in the venue to its climax. Pamela, on the other hand, played two roles with different tones and voices, bringing the audience a classic scene between Ron and Hermione in "Harry Potter".
Protecting the environment helps maintain ecological balance, reduce pollution, and safeguard human health. In some corner of the universe, perhaps there is a group of brave individuals protecting our Earth. Lastly, Samuel took the stage, presenting the work "Super Earth", interpreting an ideal and beautiful world.
At the very end, Dylan and Michael once again took the stage, amidst cheers from their peers, to bring the original Japanese voiceover of "The Demon Altar Warriors". With their full dedication, the two classmates immersed themselves in recreating that fiery battle, and the voiceover competition began and ended amidst thunderous applause.
With sound waves as ropes and performance as the backdrop, on this stage showcasing talent, students bring the audience one brilliant work after another with passion and abilities. Regardless of the final results, it is a delightful audio-visual feast!
