Without a clear goal, the soul easily loses its way. This concept is perfectly captured by the proverbial saying "when it is everywhere, it is nothing." Goals act as the sails that propel us towards great ideals. At the conclusion of the first semester of the new school year, SHBS's college guidance department, in collaboration with classroom teachers, organized a profound goal education activity for students. The objective of this activity was to guide students in opening their hearts, gaining a deep understanding of themselves, exploring their potential, and maximizing their strengths. Following the completion of the initial diagnostic test, students began reflecting upon their own weaknesses. Through the "Learning Style Test" and "Curriculum Feedback" components of the target education, students were able to gain a better understanding of their own thinking and learning styles. This, in turn, enabled them to adjust their learning strategies, enhance their learning skills, and establish a personalized learning framework.

With the guidance of their classroom teachers, Pre-A and G10 students participated in a process of daily, semester, and long-term goal setting, as well as reflection on their strengths and weaknesses. When it came to listing their strengths, students often experienced confusion or self-doubt. However, their teachers encouraged them to recognize the potential value inherent in each trait. For instance, if a student mentioned their ability to play video games for extended periods without getting tired, the teacher would highlight their passion for their interests and their enduring patience. This perspective helped students view themselves from multiple angles, considering their traits in a holistic manner rather than simply defining themselves narrowly. Students gradually tapped into their own unique personalities and qualities, actively setting various goals and genuinely planning for a bright future.

G11 students attended a talk on university planning by Principal Chris, who warmed up the audience with a humorous story and then went on to explain the key points in preparing for university and the strategies that students should adopt. He emphasized the importance of academic performance and standardized tests, but also mentioned that in the context of similar performance, a student's personal story is equally important to college admissions officers, and suggested that while ensuring academic excellence, students should get involved in community activities or competitions to explore and shape their uniqueness.
