SHBS has always been committed to creating colorful and diverse learning along with living experiences for students. The “Classroom and Dormitory Decoration Contest" is not only a fun competition, but also a profound educational practice. Through this activity, SHBS aims to promote students' creativity, teamwork and social skills, at the same time providing them with a platform and opportunity to show their individuality. In the process, students felt the power of teamwork, moreover enhanced their sense of belonging to their classes and dormitories.
On Monday afternoon, SHBS held a contest for the “Most Beautiful Class and Dormitory”. Led by homeroom teachers, students traveled through cozy dormitories and creative classrooms to appreciate the results of the careful preparation and decoration of themselves.
Starting from their own homerooms, students visited each classroom in order. Students pushed open the door of the classroom, and were instantly surprised by the scene in front of them. Some classrooms put a warm welcome sticker on the door, inviting each student sincerely with words. Some classrooms hang down transparent balls from the ceiling, filled with light feathers or golden ginkgo leaves. Some classrooms were surrounded by walls plastered with movie posters, so that classic moments of movies such as The Shawshank Redemption and The Truman Show fixed on the wall. Some classrooms used cork boards to display students' photos and works, allowing every student to integrate into this warm collective... Each classroom's decoration highlights the class's characteristics and students' unique personalities. These well-designed decorations are the culmination of every student's efforts and hard work.

After visiting the classrooms, students stepped into the more interesting part - visiting each other’s dormitories to see how they decorated and if there was anything impressive.
Two dorm parents warmly welcomed everyone at the door of the girls’ dormitory. "Unsavory Room", "Senior Activity Center", "Mickey's House" ... The interesting door signs of dormitories were striking and made students eager to enter. Bedding was neatly folded on the beds, toiletries were neatly organized on the sinks, books, lamps, and girls' skincare products were placed on the desktops in order. The walls were covered with wallpaper posters or decorated with students' paintings, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere.
Leaving the girls’ dormitories, students walked through the normally closed door to the boys’ dormitories. The sound of music in the distance drew visitors in to find out what was going on. Some "sophisticated boys" had put up large posters, lit up ambient lights, turned on the stereo, played music, prepared various props, and even sprayed perfume in the dormitory to greet their classmates with great care. Students poured into the dormitory, filled with lights and music. Everywhere was bustled with noise and excitement, impressed by the creative sets that they all took out cell phones to cast votes.
In this event, the evaluation results seemed to be of lesser importance. The process of students collaborating to decorate their classrooms and dormitories, and the moment of appreciating the fruits of their classmates' labor were filled with joy. Students learned to create together and gained precious friendships.
