On this day, SHBS held the grand opening ceremony for the 2024-2025 academic year in a solemn and lively atmosphere. The ceremony, themed “Recognizing Excellence, Inspiring the Future”, served not only as a summary and affirmation of the hard work and proactive efforts made by teachers and students in the past semester but also as a motivation for the new semester, urging all to continue striving for excellence and brilliance.

At the beginning of the ceremony, cheerful songs and melodious violin music echoed through the campus. The carefully prepared warm-up performances created a warm and lively atmosphere for the event, fully showcasing the students of Hongrun Boyuan's versatility and vibrant spirit, earning waves of applause from the faculty, students, and guests present.

Amidst warm applause and cheerful music, the ceremony officially began. The first part of the event featured speeches by student representatives and faculty representatives. Student representatives Zhang, Wen, and Zhong took the stage to speak. Drawing from their own learning experiences, they shared insights on personal growth and encouraged all students to bravely pursue their dreams and make the most of their youth in the new semester. Following this, teacher representative Alec took the stage. Following the exciting award ceremony, our principal delivered an impassioned speech. He first extended his greetings and best wishes for the new semester to all faculty and students and expressed appreciation for their hard work in the previous semester.

Principal Chen centered his speech around three keywords: “Innovation”, “Expansion”, and “Sustainable Development”, providing direction for learning and growth in the new semester. He cleverly referenced well-known stories and characters like Nezha, Wukong, “Black Myth: Wukong”, and “DeepSeek” to elaborate on these concepts in an accessible manner.
Principal Chen pointed out that Nezha’s defiance of fate and breaking of constraints embodied the spirit of innovation, while “Black Myth: Wukong” used groundbreaking technology to present Eastern mythology, exemplifying the power of innovation. He encouraged students to follow Nezha’s example, questioning and breaking conventions. “Expansion” is not just about accumulating knowledge yet more about broadening one’s horizons. He cited the DeepSeek team’s exploration of uncharted cognitive territories, urging students to actively expand their perspectives and step out of their comfort zones. He then emphasized that learning and life are marathons, requiring continuous development like Wukong, staying focused in times of restlessness and developing resilience in the face of setbacks.
Principal Chen hoped students would approach challenges with Nezha’s courage, explore the unknown with DeepSeek’s wisdom, and write their own legends with the resilience of “Black Myth”. Finally, he sent the phrase “Even if facing irreparable destruction, the spirit of exploration never dies” to all students, offering it as the best interpretation of youth.
This opening ceremony was a recognition of the hard work and achievements of teachers and students in the past semester yet as well a motivation for everyone to strive for greater success in the new semester. With the joint efforts of all, the future of SHBS will certainly shine even brighter. A new semester, a new beginning – let’s join hands and together write a brighter chapter for SHBS!
