MeowMeow-land is a stray cat rescue charity organization established by teachers and students of SHBS in 2019. After rescuing cats, the teachers and students take them for medical treatment, deworming, vaccination, and neutering, and then find suitable adopters for them, to improve the cats' health and quality of life while preventing the overbreeding of stray cats, which could lead to more tragedies.
Over the past five years, MeowMeow-land has rescued nearly eighty stray cats and helped almost half of them find loving homes. Some cats that cannot undergo socialization training are returned to the wild after vaccination and neutering, though some cats choose not to leave and become the elder residents of MeowMeow-land. These "elder residents" comfort new arrivals and help them quickly adapt to the environment of MeowMeow-land, promoting socialization training for human-friendly cats.
Since its establishment, MeowMeow-land has been supported by teachers, students, parents, and friends from all walks of life. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the friends who care for and support MeowMeow-land.
Currently, MeowMeow-land is managed and operated by nearly thirty volunteer students from Hongrun Boyuan. We are also working hard to achieve the sustainable development of this charity project. To this end, MeowMeow-land's peripheral products design department has launched products such as resin pendants, badge pendants, and sun-block clothing, aiming to give back to those who support our project through the sale of charity products and to sustain the project's operation.
On June 30, 2024, Decem Lu, a student from our school, coordinated with friends from MIC (Music in CREATION) to hold a band performance themed around MBTI at the New Song Space on the third floor of the Workers' Cultural Palace on Yuyuan Road, Changning District, Shanghai, to raise funds for MeowMeow-land. In addition to receiving support from many friends at the concert, we also gained support from friends online. We hereby publicize the records of charitable purchases and donations from this event and express our sincere thanks to all the friends who supported MeowMeow-land.
The finances of MeowMeow-land are jointly managed by two student leaders and one teacher, and the detailed accounts and records are regularly published in the volunteer group for oversight and supervision. Friends who want to obtain detailed accounts and expenditure records of MeowMeow-land can search for "Maomao Leyuan" on the WeChat channel and send a private message to get the information.
