On April 23, 2024, we celebrated the 29th World Book Day. To honor this special occasion, the SHBS library meticulously prepared a unique cultural event. This event was not only a reading festival but also a feast of cultural exchange, with the highlight being the collaborative efforts in planning and creation by both teachers and students, ensuring the event's diversity and inclusivity.

The planning team for the event consisted of both teachers and students who brainstormed together to create a cultural event that was both informative and entertaining. Several teachers from different disciplines actively participated and arrived at the library a week before the event to carefully select and recommend books worth reading within their fields. These books not only provided valuable reading resources for the students but also guided their academic explorations.

At the entrance of the event, there were special setups for karaoke and snack booths, allowing attendees to enjoy delicious treats while feeding their minds, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The computers were already loaded with popular music and rap related to both Chinese and foreign cultures, adding a dynamic and energetic vibe to the event.

After a brief rest near the snack booths, attendees could explore various book stalls inside the library, where teachers and student volunteers enthusiastically introduced various books and shared the joy of reading.

Shortly after the event started, the promotional booths were bustling with activity as teachers and students mingled, exchanging reading experiences and discussing cultural topics, creating a lively yet orderly atmosphere.

As the final traces of the sunset by the lake slowly sank, this year's World Book Day event drew to a successful close. This beautiful experience will motivate students to continue exploring the ocean of knowledge in the future.
