During this era of unprecedented change, a lecture discussing key issues of entering the AI era took place on February 26th at the SHBS auditorium during CAS activity time. The guest speaker, Ms. Zhu, a partner at Shanghai Hongjing Lingxuan Network Technology Co., Ltd. and a Tongji University alumna, has over 15 years of experience in recruiting top executives and experts for globally renowned companies and unicorns, aiding high-tech firms in finding top talent worldwide. She shared insights on the transformations and opportunities of this new era with the students. Highlighting the frequent use of various applications and electronic products, she noted that we are both contributors to and beneficiaries of data. She emphasized that in the AI era, the true masters should be those who raise questions and create solutions.
Ms. Zhu delved deeply into the significance of data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence for students' future development, highlighting the necessity of innovative thinking and continuous learning. Interacting and sharing with students, she answered questions about AI's development direction, technology application, and how to integrate emerging technologies into the learning process. This not only sparked students' curiosity but also deepened their understanding of their personal learning paths.
She emphasized the necessity for international high school students and schools to adapt by strengthening STEM and AI-related education to foster technical literacy and creativity. Ms Zhu recommended engaging in project-based learning, coding competitions, and AI-related projects to apply knowledge practically and develop problem-solving skills. She advised students to consider interdisciplinary learning opportunities, innovative labs, and internships in their higher education choices to prepare for the future job market.
Ms Zhu encourages students to engage in project-based learning and practical experiences, such as coding competitions, scientific research projects, or AI-related projects, to apply knowledge in real-world settings and develop problem-solving skills. When choosing further education paths, students should consider universities and majors that offer interdisciplinary learning opportunities, innovative labs, and industry internships, preparing them for the future job market.
Moreover, Ms. Zhu stressed the importance of a global perspective, encouraging participation in exchange programs, international competitions, and online courses to understand diverse technological applications and foster cross-cultural cooperation.
The lecture concluded with a lively interaction with three students, discussing AI's impact on the arts and the legal challenges and support for AI development. This not only sparked curiosity about future technologies but also reinforced the understanding of individual learning paths, motivating attendees to prepare for their careers in a world brimming with opportunities and directions.
