Dynamic snowflakes dance in the sky, and the white window frames shine brightly. Over the past busy 300 days, a year has passed in a flash. The art festival on Christmas Eve is the grandest event of SHBS every year. Instrument performances, theatrical shows, singing and dancing performances, emblem design, creative photo contests for classes and dormitories... With a variety of cultural and artistic forms, every child has the opportunity to showcase their talents, enjoy themselves, and shine in the event. This year's art festival has reached new heights in terms of overall scale and participation, and parents have also been invited to the school to participate in this artistic feast.
The art exhibition areas on both sides of the auditorium display the artworks created by the children in their art classes and the emblems carefully designed for the art festival. The teaching building is filled with creative photos of classes and dormitories. Stepping into the auditorium, a heartwarming creative video is playing on the big screen. On this special day, the atmosphere of art permeates every corner of the campus.

At 9:00 am on December 22, 2023, after enjoying the exciting pre-show performance "New Treasure Island" by Fred, Quentin, and Qianlang, the four energetic hosts, Ivan, Ella, Doris, and Jackson, took the stage. They solemnly announced that the closing ceremony of the 2023 SHBS Art Festival, titled "Celebrating the New Year, with Splendid Colors," was officially beginning.
The first performance was a dance titled "Lovesick Girls" by Felicia, Victoria, Lesley, and Michelle. Their dance flowed like a poem, light and powerful, igniting the atmosphere and earning continuous applause from the audience.
The second performance was a song and dance called "My Future Tense" by Class preA3. Every movement and note on stage seemed to jump out of the sitcom "Love Apartment," filled with laughter and tears, leading the audience into the memories of youth.
The third performance was a song titled "Over", presented by Nicky and Beverly. Their voices were warm and melodious, like a gentle touch of time, expressing a profound understanding of memories and regrets.
The fourth performance was a Tai Chi demonstration. The students from the Tai Chi class showcased the steady and fluid movements full of tension, deeply displaying the essence of this traditional exercise and the charm of Chinese traditional philosophy.
The fifth performance was a dance titled "Spirit" by Carrie. Every dance step she took seemed to engage in a dialogue with nature, giving people a glimpse of the flow of time and the mysteries of life.
The sixth performance was "Toy Story" by Class 11.1. They reenacted scenes from the movie, with the toys suddenly coming to life in the night's singing, allowing the audience to relive the dreams and joy of childhood.
The seventh performance was a dance called "Let's Have a Good Time" by Class preA2. They amazed the audience with their vitality and creativity, presenting a visual and auditory feast, bringing surprises and joy to the viewers.
The eighth performance was a Rap song titled "Real Me" by Michael. His voice had a unique charm, whispering and expressing endless emotions, guiding the audience to contemplate the meaning of the true self.
The ninth performance is a fantastic medley brought by the outstanding music students. The audience enjoyed a grand chorus performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody", a solo performance of the bassoon playing "Variations on Jingle Bells," a band performance of "Birds and Cicadas," "Heaven," and "Bone Crusher." These performances were full of individual charm, with different tones complementing each other and blending into stunning effects. The students from the music class delivered a breathtaking music feast with their professional interpretations, receiving thunderous applause and creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The tenth performance is a cello and piano duet titled "Merry Christmas Mr. Laurance" by Olga and Mr.Will. Their performance flowed like a clear stream, providing a refreshing and relaxing experience for the audience.
The eleventh performance is a musical called "Nostalgia" presented by the students from Class 12.1. Their performance slowly awakened the beautiful memories that had been accumulated over time, deeply captivating the audience.
The twelfth performance is "Sports Day" presented by the PreB class. They recreated typical sports actions, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the authentic life scenes of the students on campus, making it highly entertaining.
The thirteenth performance is a rendition of "Mickey's Carnival Parade" by Class 10.3. After the chorus, the "Mickeys" began to celebrate, and their performance was filled with imaginative elements. The childlike joy and surprises delighted the audience, resulting in continuous cheers.
Next up is the exciting Art Festival Logo Award Ceremony. There were over a dozen entries in this logo design competition, each beautifully crafted with unique creativity. Eventually, after several rounds of voting, Srika won the first prize, while Henry, Martin, Jimmy, and Pamela received the second and third prizes. Principal Chris and Principal Chen took the stage to present the awards to the winning students.
The fourteenth performance is a play called "Four Machines." The actors' performances were full of dramatic tension, vividly depicting a tumultuous yet transformative era. It showcased the power of progress and cultural awakening, deeply touching every audience member.
The fifteenth performance is a Huangmei Opera titled "The Dragon Returns to the Sea, the Bird Enters the Forest," performed by Mr.Wang and the students. Their melodious voices perfectly interpreted this classic Chinese opera, immersing the audience in the charm of traditional art.
The sixteenth performance is a song called "Solo" by Joanna. With her deep and affectionate voice, she profoundly expressed the sweetness and heartache of love, evoking a strong resonance from the audience.
The seventeenth performance is a chorus titled "Listen to Your Mom" by Class 10.4. Maternal love awakened the purest emotions deep within everyone, and the audience joined in the chorus, creating a warm and touching atmosphere.
The eighteenth performance is a poetry recitation called "Snow, Distance" by Class 10.1. Their recitations unfolded like beautiful paintings, taking the audience on an imaginative and beautiful journey, guiding them through the world of snow.
The nineteenth performance is "Unusual" by Mike. With its unique style and charm, this song praised those who are different, showcasing their unique beauty.
The twentieth performance is a dance called "Baddie," performed by Victoria, Lesley, Wendy, Felicia, Sophie, and Allen. Their dance moves were powerful and energetic, adding a fiery charm to the stage.
The twenty-first performance is a performance art piece called "Synchronized Swimming" by Class 12.2. In this performance, the students were like water sprites, gracefully and lightly dancing, delivering a captivating performance.
The twenty-second performance is a rap performance called "Back to the Day" by Hayden. With his magnetic voice, he sang nostalgically about the good times of the past, taking the audience back to those precious memories.
The twenty-third performance is a dance called "Drama," performed by Aria, Cynthia, Sophie, and Sophia. Their energetic dance moves perfectly matched the music, filled with rhythm. The atmosphere in the audience quickly ignited, and the applause was continuous.
The twenty-fourth performance is a medley of songs called "Rose Boy" and "Father" by Angelina, Angela, and Leo. These two songs explore the eternal themes of life and love from the perspective of family and growth, provoking profound thoughts from the audience.
The twenty-fifth performance is an Otaku dance called "Mottai" by Luca and Cissy. Their dance was full of dynamism and vitality, showcasing the passion and enthusiasm of youth.
The twenty-sixth performance is a musical called "The Stepmother's Tea Party" by Class 10.2. With its unique narrative style and musical elements, they reinterpreted this classic play, infusing it with new charm.
The twenty-seventh performance is a skit called "Ode to Joy" by the PreA4 class. This program provided surprises to the audience with its innovative concept and wonderful performance.
The twenty-eighth program is a sketch called "Birthday Celebration" performed by Class 11.2. With a humorous and heartwarming performance, it brought the audience a lively and entertaining birthday party. The scene was very warm and touching.
The grand finale was the song and dance show "I'll be there for U" by Class PreA1. With splendid entrances, funny poses, sweet voices, lively and adorable dance steps, and enthusiastic interaction with the audience, the performers elevated the atmosphere to a climax.
Finally, all the teachers went on stage and sang together the song "I want it that way." The art festival concluded with a heartwarming and touching melody.
